Hi,
Are you Jan Jorden from Orleans, Vermont.? I am Retha Chase Doane from
Michigan.
My gg grandfather was born in Vermont. They migrated west to Lewis and
Jefferson Counties in New York. He was John Chase. They settled in Orleans
, Jefferson County, NY. Or did they name it after they settled there ?
Many times people migrated and then used the same name of the place they came
from, to rename a place in another state.
Would there be Chase's in Orleans area of Vermont ? I have searched for
this John Chase for about 20 years. He just elodes me. Iv'e almost given
up. I think he's buried himself in a deep hole.
I would appreciate any help you could give.
I will be on another computer for about a month, so will give you that email
