I'm kinda jumping in here. But is the the Abner Wright who came to
Fairfield also from Weybridge, Vt? And had a brother Abel? I have both
Weybridge and Fairfield ancestors and have often wondered if the descendants
of Abner by either of his wives intermarried with the Sturdevant/Sturtevant
family of either location. I haven't found any "of record" but there have
been some deed transactions in Fairfield which involved a John Sturdevant
who lived in the southeast part of the town where the Pages also lived.
This John Sturtevant is not my direct ancestor but he is probably a relative
of some degree. For some reason, there has been quite a lot of movement
between the residents of Weybridge and Fairfield.
Regarding the carpenter occupation, I have a line, and the surname is
Carpenter also, and they are almost always set up in or near a village
location. Some familly member is still overseeing the farm but any trade
business is more often conducted from a town lot.

Researching Sturtevant/Britell; Hobbs/Smith; Russell/Apger; Seymour/Cook and
some interesting other family names and the localities associated with these
families.
