The members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kent and Renton are planning a beautification day for the Saar Cemetery (208th and Highway 167, next to WinCo Foods).

We would like to invite all who want to participate with us on September 16th and 17th to accomplish this. With all our efforts, we can make an impact on the looks of the cemetery and the surrounding area.

Planned work projects:
a.. Removal of approximately half of the trees near the entrance.
b.. Removal of five poplar trees.
c.. Removal of one tree that is split and broken.
d.. Removal of blackberries.
e.. General cleanup.
Equipment needed:
a.. Two 10-yard dumpsters.
b.. One large chipper.
c.. One log splitter.
d.. Six chain saws.
e.. Ten weed eaters.
f.. Miscellaneous hand tools such as, pruning shears, rakes, shovels, axes.
Everyone needs to wear gloves.

I received the above in the mail today and wanted to share it with the society. Please give me a call or e-mail () if you are interested in attending the clean-up. I will be attending the 16th and only part of the 17th. On the 17th is, of course, our general meeting. I will be giving a brief talk about the Saar Cemetery headstone issue, and then onto the cemetery after the meeting.
