Not a hoax....Please always be cautious with attachments....the key word to
watch for is "PICTURES"

Virus Alert: Melissa.U variant

Description: A new variant of the Melissa.U virus, which is not
yet detected by most anti-virus software. Delete and do not open any email
attachments with the Subject line beginning: pictures.

Action Required:
--Immediately delete any email message with the subject line
beginning: pictures.
--Ensure that Word 2000 macro security setting is "High" or Word
97 Macro Virus Protection is enabled.
· Office 2000 users:
--Look in the "How do I ensure the Office macro virus protection
is turned on?" section of

· Office 97 Users:

--Always choose the "Disable Macros" option if given a choice.
--Don't open an attachment unless you know what it is and who
