I have a lot of questions about Port Orchard/Bremerton area about 1900-1930.
1. Was there a newspaper published in Port Orchard during this time?
2. Did Tracyton every have its own newspaper?
3. I have a letter that makes mention of "going to Charleston on 2-25-1909. Was Charleston renamed Port Orchard?
4. Letter mentions catching the Norwood at Bremerton. Was it a ferry? What was its route?
5. Letter mentions going to Bremerton to the Woodcraft dance. What was the Woodcraft dance.
6. Letter mentions "came over on the Shamrock", again was it a ferry and what was its route?
7. Mentions going to Bremerton to the Social Club??
8. Mentions "went home on the Chicaree." same questions as #6.
9.Mentions several times about going to the "Hall"??? Also the old Veterans Hall???
10. Where is Enetai?
11. Where is Ross' Point?
12. Where is "The Springs".
13. Where is Old Soldiers Home Road?
14. What was the Rainier Grand and where was it? Sounds like a hotel to me.
15. Where is Pleasant Beach?
16. Where is Pottery Hill?
17. Where is Horseshoe Lake?
18. Mentions "university grounds" possibly in Bremerton. says "took in the Forestry, Calif. Women's, part of Art and Swedish Buildings and Heard Judge Ben Lindsey speak."
19. What was the 921 Club?
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Connie
