Thank you Aurale, I had also found the same notation on Rootsweb, and
also found the following also in the census.
This is all that I have found so far on Dennis, this may or may not be
the same Dennis Waltrip, but I am about 50 percent sure it is. Thanks

Dennis Shaw Waltrip, Grandson, Male, White, age 7, born in KY

Dennis Waltrip died in World War II. He entered the service from Kentucky
and was a Fireman, 2nd Class, US Navy. He was awarded the Purple Heart. His
name is listed on the Tablets of the Missing in Action or Buried at Sea at
Manila American Cemetery in Manila, Philippines.
The name of the Navy Ship that Dennis Waltrip served on and which sank
at sea
during the War was called the "Wasp"

Dennis Waltrip, is listed as missing in action, Fort William McKinley,
Manila, The Philipines
