Hello everyboby,
I'm new to the list. My name is Ronald Paterson and I live in Mackay, Queensland, Australia.
I have several relatives that I trace back to Wales but I no very little about then in Wales.
Anyone that can help me with information on the following people would be greatly appreciated
John Hughes THOMAS born about 1837 in South Wales. His parents were Thomas THOMAS and Ann HUGHES.
John Hughes THOMAS migrated to Australia in about 1856. He died at Wallsend, NSW, Australia in 1920. He married Mary WILLIAMS in 1862 at Raymond Terrace, NSW, Australia.
Mary Williams was born in Wales about 1844. Her parents were Edward WILLIAMS and Elizabeth HITCHINS. Mary died in 1874 at New Lambton, NSW, Australia. Edwards WILLIAMS was born about 1816. He died 1895 in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. On his death certificate it states his place of birth as Llanwenworth, Wales. His parents were John WILLIAMS and Elizabeth COLDS. Edward married Elizabeth HITCHINS in about 1841 (on his death certificate it has place of marriage as Monmouthshire, Wales.
Elizabeth HITCHINS died in 1915 at Wallsend, NSW, Australia. On her death certificate it has her place of birth as Caermarthen Shire, South Wales. Her parent is listed as Humphrey Hitchins.
Anyone who can help with information on these people would be greatly appreciated.
