The following article appeared in the Tuesday, 15 Oct 1889 edition of the Wilkes-Barre (PA) Record newspaper. If you would like a copy of this obituary, please send me your mailing address.

"Thomas James, aged 55, an old resident of the borough, died yesterday of miners' consumption. He has been sick for a lengthy period. He was a native of Aderdare [sic], Wales. The funeral will take place on Wednesday. He was a member of the Senior A.P.A. who will attend the funeral in a body. His son William James is a merchant in Plymouth. He was well and respectfully known in the community."
