Hi! Listers,
My Welsh interest, is regarding my maternal Gmother, Annie Maria WILLIAMS.According
to her marriage cert,on 7th July, 1890, she was born 1871, her father was
William WILLIAMS (deceased), who had been a coal-miner. From this I think
I found the family on the 1881 census, at Queen St., Spennymoor, with her
birthplace given as Mould(sic), which I read as Mold, Flintshire. Can SKS
tell me where to apply for her birth cert, and those of her parents, William,
born 1812, Bisla/Birla, and her mother, Jane, born 1836, at Denby(sic)/Denbigh
?
I would be glad of any tiny bit of help in this search, mainly because the
man she married, my maternal gfather, Isaac HODGSON, was a "foundling",
so it doesn't take much imagination to work out how hard it is trying to
track down his ancestors-a personal visit to Durham is planned, to scan
newspapers of the time!
