From Wilkes Barre Record, Monday, 24 Nov 1890, Page 1

The funeral of Wendel Howe, who died at Butte City, Montana, Sunday, Nov.
16, took place yesterday afternoon in this city, from the resident of his
mother, Mrs. Robert Howe, 14 Hillside St. The obsequies were conducted by
Rev. E.J. Morris, pastor of the Puritan Church. United choirs from the
Sunday schools of the Puritan and Grant St. churches, sung Jesus Lover of
My Soul, Rock of Ages and Safe in the arms of Jesus. The cortege was
composed of a long line of carriages and several hundred of his former
companions and friends on foot. His elder brother accompanied the remains
from Montana.

[Paragraph on the floral tributes.]

He was brought up in this city from his infancy, and is a son of the late
Robert Howe, who died two years ago. He was born at St. Brides Major,
Wales.

[Article on Page 8 of 17 Nov 1890 issue shows states that he died in Seattle
of typhoid fever. A Robert Howe, age 50, died 13 Nov 1889 of spinal
trouble. An article appears on Page 4 of the 14 Nov 1889 issue.
Unfortunately, I do not have a copy to reference, but I made a notation that
one of his sons was Wendell.]
