John,

My wife's son-in-law is a Lewis. He is the 2 x great grandson of Howell Elvet (Elfed) Lewis, a well-known bishop/pastor in the Presbyterian/Congregational Churuch. Elfed wrote many hymns in the Welsh tongue. I am not sure where he was born or if there is any connection to you Lewis family.
