PETE WALL
Pete Wall, 71, of Boise, died peacefully at home Christmas Eve after
a brief illness with cancer. His son, Dnny Wall preceded him Dec. 12, 1997
after his courageous 11-month fight with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2 at Summers
Funeral Home.
Pete was born Feb. 23, 1926 in Haigler, Neb., the ninth of 10
children, from PERRY and ZELLA WALL. During the early years, "the Depression
years," he worked in the fields and loved horses. He learned many useful
skills and was an instinctive mechanic. Music came naturally to Pete, and
before long, great things came out of his guitar or any other instrument
that laid near his grasp. The war years took him to the Navy's "Pacific
Campaign." He was aboard an aircraft carrier, surviving a kamakaze attack
and several other close calls. He finished honorably and settled in
Littleton, Colo.
By 1955, Pete came to Boise with his wife, Kathy and four boys, his
strong work ethic and good character allowed him to eventually become an
employee of the Veterans Hospital Center. He often referred to that job as
the answered prayer of jobs. It was there that he retired, after 24 years of
service as one of the Boiler Plant Operators.
Music, still a big part of his life, added to the fun of Garden
City's dance club night life in the early sixties. Pete always enjoyed going
back to Colorado to visit his brothers and sisters. He spent most of his
recent past enjoying his home and his gardening talents. Marge Hacker was a
wellspring of companionship. They enjoyed her great cooking and watching
football together on weekends. They were real buddies.
Pete is survived by his three boys, Steve of Caldwell, and John and
Dave of Boise; daughters-in-law, Pam Wall, John's wife, and Carmen Wall,
Dan's wife of Arizona; brother Snaz Wall and sisters Bernice, Lucille,
Dorothy of Colorado, and Doris of California; 10 grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Pete will be remembered for his sense of humor, those blue eyes and
that million dollar smile. No memorials are requested. Pete would just want
you to stay away from, or encourage someone to stay free from cigarette
addiction.

DANNY KENT WALL
Danny Kent Wall, 48, of Phoeniz, Ariz., went to meet his Lord after
a long battle with cancer on Dec. 12, 1997.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at
Summers Funeral Homes.
Danny was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Denver, Colo., to Delmar "Pete" and
Kathy Wall. The family moved to Boise in August of 1955. Danny attended
school at Cole and Garfield Elementary, East Jr. High, and graduated from
Boarah High School in 1967.
A well-known musician, he and his brother Steve had one of the first
rock and roll garage bands in the area. Among their many engagements, they
played the old Highland Bomb Shelter, the Mardi Gras and Fiesta Ballroom.
He followed his music to Seattle and later to Phoenix, where he
spent the last years of his life playing and recording.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his children, Kelly of Phoenix,
Mindy of Spokane, and Sara of Seattle; his grandchildren, Brooklyn,
Brittany, Arianne, Hally, and Ethan; his mother and step-father, Kathy and
Bob Roberts; brothers, Steve, John and his wife Pam, and Dave; half-brother,
Dough and step-sister Sandra Berlin, all of Boise, He also leaves behind
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his sister Susan Kay; and followed by his
father, Delmar "Pete" Wall, who passed away Dec. 24, 1997.
Danny loved life, family and his music. He was known by friends and
fellow musicians as "a really great guy." I will miss you my angel.
Contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
