Hello to all, sorry that some of you will get two copies,

While we are getting info on the Wall family, could anyone help with this
problem, which man is which??? There are obviously two different men, the
descendents of which have both used the 1860 census and Sumter Co. marriage
for James Drew and Mary Ann Glover. The will of Isham Glover said his dau.
Mary A. A. Glover married James J. Drew. We know James J. and Shadrach Drew
were with Shadach Wall in Schley Co. in 1850 and he names both as his
grandsons in his will. There is a grave at Ebenezer Cem. in Schley Co. Ga for
J.J. Drew born 28 Aug. 1831 died 2 Oct. 1919. The other is for James J. Drew
born 16 May 1833 died 7 May 1912 in Roger Mills Co, Oklahoma buried Berlin
Cem. Married Mary Ann Glover 19 Sept 1856, Sumter Co, Ga. You will see that
except for two problems the census records for James below, it is the same
family in the census down below in "my notes". {1} Isham S. vs Lucius
Whitfield as the first son, {2} Mary is 21 in 1860 and 36 in 1870. We all know
that discrepancies like these are common in census records.

I have "assumed/thought" that Thomas Drew was the husband of Shadrach Wall's
dau who married Mr. Drew based on these two census. Shadrach and James Drew's
ages fit both census records. However if J.J. Drew born 1831 and buried at
Ebenezer is the oldest son then Shadrach doesn't fit as he was born c.1830. I
have always "assumed" both Drew boys were brothers??
-------
1830 Baker County, Georgia census, page 18
Thomas Drew, -m- 1{0-5}=Shadrach, 2{20-30}=Thomas and helper?, -f- 1{0-5} =
oldest dau., 1{20-30}=wife
{next door to Shadrach Wall}

1840 Emanuel County, Georgia census, page 196, 197 possible same Thomas?
Thomas Drew, -m- 1{0-5}=James, 1{5-10}=Shadrach, 2{10-15}=helpers?,
1{40-50}=Thomas, -f- 2{0-5}, 1{10-15} = oldest dau, 1{15-20}=helper?,
1{30-40}=wife
---------------

If anyone has any thoughts on this please put them out there. As the info from
Jonnie Dabney Drew sure looks like her James J. Drew is the grandson of
Shadrach. Also in the 1850 census with Shadrach Wall, James is 17 = born c.
1833 and this matches the date of her James J. Drew. One thing I noticed in
the info Martha McCorkle sent me is that the children of "James" born 1831
are listed as Isham and "John" {unless this is a typo}. And his wife is
listed as Mary Martha Glover. Perhaps this could be a clue??? Also the family
of J.J. Drew born 1831 stayed in Schley Co. Could it be that J.J. is John
J.Drew, "Sr." and a cousin/brother/relative of James.

Thanks,
Judy

information from Jonnie Dabney Drew, , April 1998, her info is
from the family bible of Lucius W. Drew, oldest son of J.J. Drew. The marriage
date for James and Mary Ann in the bible is 25 Sept. 1856. The bible is in
possission of Lalar Belle Myers. She has a certified copy of the death
certificate for James and has personally been to his gravesite in Roger Mill's
County, Oklahoma. I have used her birth and death dates for James J. Drew and
Mary Ann Glover. She quotes from the book, "From Salt Pork to Sirloin", by
Mrs. Sarah Britton, Baylor County, Texas for the marriage of James and Mary.

LUCIUS BROTHER, VIRGIL AND HIS SISTER, PINKY ARE SHOWN IN THE CENSUS. THE
1910 CENSUS SHOWS LUCIUS AND FAMILY IN CLARENDON (DONLEY CO. TX). ACCORDING
TO LALAR DREW WILKERSON'S NARRATIVE, THEY WENT TO CLARENDON FOR THE SCHOOLS.
THE 1910 ROGER MILLS CO., OK CENSUS SHOWS JAMES J DREW TO BE LIVING WITH HIS
