Subject: [WALL] BAKER and WALL from Wedmore, Somerset, England to Dubuque County, IA

I am interested in sharing information with anyone who is researching BAKER and WALL who emigrated from the Wedmore, Somerset, England area to the Dubuque Co., IA area. I am hoping I can tie together several unidentified people into specific families.

My specific BAKER and WALL lines are:

William WALL b. 1832 mar Jane BAKER b. 1828-29 in Wedmore. Jane (Baker) WALL d. 1860-1861 in Wedmore. They had one daughter, Amelia Jane WALL who was my great-grandmother. I am researching her ancestors and descendants. Parents of William WALL are believed to be William Taverner and Elizabeth (Wall) Wall. William mar. (2) Eliza Ann COX and with their combined family emigrated to Dubuque Co., IA 1865-1868.

Richard BAKER b.1828 Mark, Somerset, England mar. Elizabeth WALL (sister to above William) b.1831 in Wedmore, Somerset, England. They were (I think) married in Wedmore or shortly after arrival to Iowa. They had 7 children. I am researching Richard BAKER's ancestral line (believed to be Lot and Mary BAKER). Richard and Elizabeth emigrated in 1851.

In addition there are several BAKER and WALL who emigrated in the mid-late 1800's to Dubuque Co. who are shown living with these families, and who I assume are relatives. I would greatly appreciate any help you are able to offer!

"...but those memories I have will be gone all too soon,
leaving this world at the same time I do...
just as the memories of my grandfathers and great-grandmothers
left with them, and unless they are given and passed on,
it is as if those things had never been..."
