Need parents, siblings and ancestors of David Henry Wall b. ca. 1834 somewhere in Alabama. He first appears of record in Hinds Co., MS in 1856 when he married Emma Pauline Foster, daughter of John J. Foster and Sarah Elizabeth Clark. He died in Vicksburg, Mississippi in December 1859 after he was kicked in the head by a horse. According to family legend, he was in a horse trader and in Vicksburg on business. Per the 1860 Mortality Schedule he was born in Alabama. However, in subsequent census records his daughter reported that he was born in Georgia and Mississippi. I have been unable to locate him on the 1850 MS , LA, AL or AR census. He would have been about 16 in that year. There seems to be no connection to any other Wall families in Hinds County.
In 1860 an S. D. Weill and a D. H. Weill paid taxes in Hinds County. These taxes were for the previous year (1859). In 1861, his widow paid taxes on land he bought in March 1859. Family legend is that his descendants are one-fourth German. Is "Weill" some sort of indication that he was of Germanic origin?
Any help greatly appreciated.
