When i rec'd my copy of a message sent to list only the last third arrived,
assuming we all had the same glitch, here it is again: I had purchased a
library discard( for 50 cents) entitled CANADA aHistory in Photographs, by
Roger hall & Gordon Dodds, pub. 1981. On page 213 is a photo, -Halifax, Nova
Scotia, 1946(PANS)
The caption says: "A happy legacy of the war was the arrival, at government
expense, of an army of some forty thousand war brides,(mainly British) and
their twenty thousand children, most under the age of three. Canadian
servicemen, it appeared, had scarcely spent their long service in wartime
Europe in Vain." the pic. shows 9 young women, all holding a baby or toddler
save one.- Joyce
