I'm not sure if you are aware of the Friends Reunited web site?

It is a site where people list which school they went to in Britain. Every
school in Britain is listed, by the year also. So if, for example you were at
St Mark's elementary in 1946, everyone who wants to be 'found' will be
listed. You'll also find a potted history of what your old school chums are
up to.

It's free to join, and post your details. You can also leave a message on the
notice board (at the bottom of each school page) to say which of your old
friends, who are not listed, you would like to find. I was able to organise a
reunion this year for people I hadn't seen in 30 years and it was great fun.

If you do see someone you want to write to, you have to pay £5 (I think
that's right - or about US$8) to get their email addresses. But this payment
is a one-off and entitles you to get in touch with as many people as you like
(over a 12 month period). I managed to track down 53 of my old classmates
(out of 62 in our year) using this method.
