It's no good sending 'unsubscribe' messages to the list!

If you are still getting messages then you didn't succeed in unsubscribing!
The only way to unsubscribe is to send a message to the Rootsweb - there
are no people on the end of their computers, they are purely and simply
robotic computers - if you send them a command (subscribe or unsubscribe)
then they will act on that. If you send them a message they cannot
understand - in other words if you don't follow Rootsweb's instructions for
unsubscribing - then they will not do anything because they will not
understand. That's not only true for the Warbrides list but for any other
Rootsweb list - I have no control over it whatsoever and although I do have
the power to unsubscribe someone manually if there is a real problem, I'm
afraid I don't do that unless someone is physically unable to do it for
themselves! It's a 'self serve' thing so you are going to have to do it
yourself I'm afraid. The instructions to unsubscribe are on some of the
random taglines following the Warbrides list messages, or, if you are in
digest mode then they are contained within each digest. They were also in
the Welcome Message you received when you joined.

Send a message to with the one word
UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. If you are in digest mode then
substitute a D for the L. It will work. I think you may need to check what
other lists you are also on, because if you are getting hundreds of messages
that takes 20 minutes to download, they can't all be from the Warbrides
list!
