Hi Ruth!
I do have a story about one male "war bride"
He was my husband! I was a WAC in the US Army Air Force, stationed in England with the 8th Air Force. The 8th was the heavy bombers and their support units. My husband, an Englishman from Yorkshire, was a radio officer in the Merchant Navy. It wasn't exactly the war that brought us together however because we had been pen pals long before the war began. And we had first met when his ship came to an Atlantic port not far from my home in the early winter of 1943. It was a very polite meeting and though I had already volunteered for the army I had not yet been called up. It was just luck that I was sent to England.

When the War ended in Europe, I took my discharge in France and took a civilian job with the US War Department in Germany. We were married in 1947 and he came to the US under provisions of the so-called War Brides Act. Once here and settled in my home town a newspaper story about us brought an invitation from the local chapter of British War Brides for him to join them as an honorary member. He was amused and pleased to accept.

I am sure there must be several other male war brides in the US though I don't know of any others.
