Subject: [WarBrides] MY AUNT MADGE

Hello to all. I am new to this list and hoping someone can help me. Have been searching for my aunt for 3 years, I didn't know that she existed until then.
Here goes...Madge was widowed in 1941, her husband Walter Samuel Brown went down with his ship, never seeing his child who was born a couple of weeks after his death, his daughters name being Barbara A Brown.
Family tales say that Madge went to Canada or America at sometime in the 40s.
I have found a marriage for a Madge Brown to a Venus Parker in the 3rd quarter of 1944 at Dartford Kent UK, the record offfice at Dartford can find no record there so will have to go to the GRO in London.
Madge may have used the maiden name of Clayton.
The christian name of Venus does suggest that it is Canadian or American, so am thinking that Madge may have married a GI or the American equivalent. Can anyone Help.
My kind regards Ann in the UK.
