A quick web search using www.hotbot.com brought up several interesting
sites, including a news release about a fund-raising scheme for a bat
project related to the Compton Verney Ice House...

Compton Verney is now home to an impressive art gallery. As for records,
you appear to be in luck.

MAJOR COLLECTIONS
A large proportion of the Trust's archive holdings comprise the records of
some of Warwickshire's leading landed families. These include material
relating not only to their Warwickshire estates but to estates in other
parts of the country. The most important of these are:

Archer of Tanworth
Ferrers of Baddesley Clinton
Gregory-Hood of Stivichall
Leigh of Stoneleigh Abbey
Phillipps of Welcombe
Throckmorton of Coughton Court
Willoughby de Broke of Compton Verney ***

*** (there is link to a description of these records)

Happy hunting!
