Perhaps all the more reason for the explicit address of her employment
to be given. Candy didn't specify a date for this cert but if it were my
relative I think I would try to check if there was some large
institution, hospital, town hall etc or grand hotel situated on Poplar
Rd, Sparkhill.As for the distance - it would not be impossible for a
charwoman to have, at best, a long bus trip or , at worst, a six-mile
walk to get to work. They were a tougher breed, bless 'em, or most of us
wouldn't be here!
