Subject: [WAR] How accurate are ages on the census
Date: Sat, 1 Mar 2003 09:34:26 +0000 (GMT)

Do you think it at all possible people lied about
their ages on census I mean was there any way of
checking once a census was completed, my ggrandmother
states her age as 27yrs in 1901 which means she was
born either 1873/4 but I now have documentation which
gives her christening in 1869
or could she have done this because she was a lot
older than my ggrandfather as he was born in 1875 and
on 1901 census he is 26yrs this is correct from what I
have found, my question now is if she had done this
maybe this is the reason why I cant find other members
of my family ( not connected to this family) is it
worth checking a couple of years earlier, any advice
appreciated

Christine
