Marjorie, For many years, I have been looking for someone like you. Would
it be possible for me to buy a copy of the history that you have written of
your grandfather? My gggrandfather Henry Heist married Hannah Washburn. I
have not been able to find her parents and siblings. She was born
11/7/1803, I believe in Washington Co., N.Y. She died 10/4/1880 at the home
of her son, Dr, William Henry Heist in Townsend,Schuyler Co., N.Y. Another
son, George Washburn Heist, a lawyer became Mayor of Sidney, Neb at the end
of the 1890s. Henry's parents. George and Mary Campbell Heist, a brother,
Alexander and his wife are all buried in Center Falls, N.Y. on the Daniel
W. Tefft farm. In 1855 Schuyler Co. Census a Sarah Washburn also lived with
them. It said she was born in Washington Co. Perhaps your Sarah was an
aunt of my Hannah. I have a lot of Washburn information but never been able
to connect them to Hannah. Your family seems very promising. Hoping to
hear from you.Gwen
Gwendolyn T. McCabe, Homer, N.Y.
