Subject: 2ND CALL: 12th Generation's
Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 10:50:19 -0700
Greetings All! Wednesday 21 June 2000
Last fall I put a call out to identify all the 12 generations out
there on the WASHBURN LIST.
There was a wonderful response that we all enjoyed learning about.
And having just been reminded by that recent e-mail message, I
thought it would be great
to place the call again to those who are "new" on this list.
With this posting of "all" of our generations...whether they are the
12th Generation or "any"
other Generation...we all can benefit in our research.
So...I ask you, if you are new to the WASHBURN LIST, please post your
family generation listing.
This way, who know's? You may just hook up with a cousin you never knew!
Thank you for participating,
Cousin Chuck

Just a thought for those who are having difficulty linking to the
Mayflower ....maybe by some of my surnames might be of some help...I
surly hope so!!
The family COAT-OF-ARMS:
There is one other thing I would like to share.....and that is the
family COAT-OF-ARMS. My Grandfather, through his diligent research,
located the "true" coat-of-arms listed in Burkes Armory. Burkes
Armory is a publication in England that has the early "registered"
coat-of-arms. Some of you may seen the "quatra foil" showing across
the center bar of the shield. The "quatra foil" sometimes has been
shown as "a 5 leaf foil" instead of a "quatra foil=the 4 leaf foil."
What has happened here, as I have found out on my personal study
through the years..is that more recent Washburn families have chosen
the "5 leaf foil" in the center bar instead of the "4 leaf foil."
Also, you must remember that the family "motto" has had some changes
to in past years also. I am privileged that my Grandfather went
through his research to gain the "right full" coat-of-arms.
An ADDED NOTE: Those of you who have Brenton Washburn's recent two
volume "Washburn Family in America" will see the coat-of-arms on the
front cover.
And, as my ending comment at this time.....AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS to
ALL those who have responded thus far...and ALSO for those who will
show their 12th line linage here in the future...CONGRATULATIONS!!
Cousin Chuck
