Thanks to many helpful volunteers who sent me obits and census reports, I can now share this info with the mailing list.

Ole L. Berland b. 1848 Norway, Norwegian parents. Immigrated 1860, Naturalized 1861.
In the 1880 census at Township 145, Polk Co., MN he is shown with wife Julia, b. 1859 Norway, and one daughter Belle b. 1878 MN.

The 1920 census at Andrew Ward, Spokane, WA shows him as a widower, the children listed with him are of a Wisconsin born mother, so these are children from a second wife, who has died before 1920.

Ole L. Berland is shown at Fairmount Cemetery, Spokane, WA with many of his children. He must have died in 1920, after he appeared in the census. His middle initial of "L" is at the cemetery listing. There are still a few Berland names at the Cemetery who I do not know an identity for.

1. Belle Berland b. 1878 MN d. 1917 WA Buried at Fairmount Cem. Spokane, WA.

2. Grace Berland b. 1899 MN d. 1951 Oxnard, CA. Buried at Fairmount Cem.

3. Hans Lester Berland b. 1887 MN d. 1958 WA Buried at Fairmount Cem. Married Agnes Gay in Kootenai Co., ID, then 1919 divorce Clakmas Co. OR, then remarried to Pansy Fra Middlebrook. 1920 census at Spokane, with Pansy; also 1930 census with Pansy and stepson Ron Larson at Spokane.
Pansy is not buried with Hans, and she is not mentioned in his obit, so there may have been a divorce.

4. Paul E. Berland b. 1891 MN d. 1959 WA. Buried at Fairmount Cem. Married Frances E. Clemmons b. 1890 TN, married 5-19-1926 Coeur D'Alene, ID.

5. Oscar G. Berland b. 1890 MN. d. 1962 WA. Buried at Fairmount Cem. Married: Anna Isberg.

6. John B. Berland b. 1896 MN d. ?? Married Rosalie Mogeau. As of 1951 living in Seattle, Kings Co, WA. Probably buried there?

7. Ernest Berland b. ?? d.?? As of 1951 living in San Diego, CA. Probably buried there?

8. Josephine Berland b. 1910 MN . As of 1951 she is Mrs. Dorathy living in Oregon. (Probably the last child of 11, since she was born in MN, they must have moved to Spokane from 1910 to 1920 time frame).

9. Louis A. Berland b. 1885 MN d. 3-7-1950 Buried at Fairmount Cem. Married to Winifred Smith b. 1896 MO, 1930 census shows wife's name is Inez, but same birth year, probably same lady, but diferent name usage.

10. Anna Berland b. 1882-3 MN d. 1942 WA. Buried at Fairmount Cem.

11. Ludwig O. Berland b. 1873 MN d. 1947 WA. Buried at Fairmount Cem. Married to Sarah J.

I would like to hear from any BERLAND researcher or relative. Apparently all the Berlands originate in Norway, and immigrated to MN, and then later Westward.
