Hello, All,
Am new to this list, but when I saw Chris's posting to the Salem Witch
List, I saw a ray of hope for my Albert WATSON.
He was born in Lexington, OH, in 1817, and I'm not certain whether
Samuel WATSON, was his father, or uncle. What I do know is this:
1. Amariah b 07 Feb 1751/2 @ Litchfield CT
m 1) 05 Dec 1776 @ Hartford CT, Eleanor BURR
2) @ Luzerne Co. PA, Catherine PETTIBONE
d 29 Nov 1836 @ Lexington OH
Served in several CT companies during AmRev.

2. Amariah had two brothers (this, according to a county hist of
Richland Co.)--Samuel and Noah, who was a Dr., both of whom joined
him in the Lex. area. [Note: I suspect that Samuel & Noah were
SONS, not brothers of Amariah. ~~J.]

3. Albert WATSON and Isaac N. WATSON were appointed administrators
on the estate of Samuel WATSON who d 07 Jul 1845, ae. 62. If Samuel
was b c 1783, that would be correct timing for him to be Ammi's SON,
not brother.

4. Albert & Speedy Whipple [JACOBS] WATSON, and Harvey & Sarah
WATSON (presumably Albert's brother, b 1813) moved westward from
Lexington, OH in 1852, settling at West Liberty IA, where they are all
buried.

Since Samuel WATSON died intestate in 1845, and his wife is referred to
only as "the wife," in claiming certain items in the inventory, we have
no clue as to the relationships involved. If Samuel was their father,
we can surmise that Albert and Harvey remained in the Lexington area
until their widowed mother died, sometime between 1845 and 1852, then
moved on, to Iowa.

Is anyone else on this list descended from Amariah, and knows the full
scoop on who/how many children/grandchildren he had? Any help
gratefully accepted!!!
