Don,

I have a baptism record from Kent County, England, in which the clerk
spelled the name Whatson. It's the only time I've seen it in my tree where
the name is always spelled Watson. I was told by a professional researcher
in England that it was a common error for clerks to make in spelling the
name, which was also quite a common name.
