Jens BACKER was born about 1887 prob Norway. He died 26 Apr 1959 and was buried 29 Apr 1959, Greenacres Memorial.
Resided in Everson, Whatcom, WA since 1914 and he had owned and operated the Everson Mercantile for 42 years, retiring in 1956.

Jens married Bertha SIMPSON daughter of John SIMPSON 1860 and Annetta KROHM (her 3rd). Bertha was born prob 25 Oct 1894. She died 1967 in Everson, Whatcom, WA, USA. Bertha graduated Nooksack High School 1912.

They had at least one child, a son:
John BACKER (no dates)

Interested in descendants, primarily two reasons; my great grandmother Ellen Thompson was John Simpson's sister, and memorabilia and family lore exists for both branches.

Jens had a brother who may have moved to Norway.
Bertha had a sister Jessie who apparently contacted some of her father's ancestry in Lanark co, Ontario, mid 1900's.

I'm aware of the local history involving Bertha's mother Annetta, but would want to pursue that via email. It is definitely an item of interest, but separate from this thread.

I certainly would entertain any information on the Backers - I have more ancestral information and would love to share it.
