Subject: [WEBB] Info received from Mount Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA
Date: Sat, 06 Mar 2004 17:52:07 +0000
Sent them $25.00 to find out who was in the lot with my great-grandmother's first husband. I cannot find my great-grandparents' burial place (two 10 year searches with Vital Records in PA have yielded no death certs) and I had hoped she may have been buried with her first husband.
But now I'm even more confused.
The info came back, and shows that there are two people in the lot I know nothing about and have never heard of!
"The original deed for Section Wall, Lot 58, Row 2 from south line, grave 5 from
west line, was issued to Martha Wilson.
(Okay, Martha was my great grandmother. They lived at 6646 Greenway Avenue at the time.)
The interments are as follows:
James Wilson Interred 7/14/1899
Age: 37 years Grave: Five from West Line
Georgianna Webb Interred 9/20/1902
Age 6 weeks old Grave: Five from West Line
Sarah Webb Interred 7/22/1905
Age 24 years Grave: Five from West Line"
James Wilson was my great-grandmother's first husband. She married my
great-grandfather, Edgar (or Edward) Smith 9 months later in March, 1900. She
outlived him, too, even though he was 10 years younger than she was.
As I said, I cannot find where my great-grandparents are buried. He was dead before 1929 and she stopped showing up after the 1930 City Directory, where it showed her living at 1318 South Hollywood Street, Philadelphia.
I have no idea who these "Webbs" are.
