To all of you WELCHER researchers who posted that you are interested in a
Welcher Family Association or Society:

I checked today at the library. Directory of Family Associations, Elizabeth
Petty Bentley. According to that book, there is no association or society
for surname WELCHER. However, the only copy our library has is the Third
Edition, published in 1996, and I believe I saw in a recent Everton's that a
Fifth Edition has recently been published.

It would be helpful to the group if some of you would see if your city
library genealogy department has at least the Fourth or Fifth Edition and
look up WELCHER. Please post to the list if you find anything. Some
surnames have more than one association -- sometimes just for one branch of
the family or even just one state or county!
