Hello Margaret & other researchers,
I am the "Newest Cousin" descended from Henry Wells 1655 through Moses Wells listed below. I would like to list some additional information
on "my" Moses.

Moses born ca 1797 was closely connected to a James Wells born ca 1795 VA (probable brother) and a Jacob Wells (brother or father?) in
early Roane Co. Tennessee. Another researcher who descends from James Wells ca 1795 has determined the above mentioned Jacob could
be the Jacob Wells born ca 1770's VA who married Mary Oats Oct. 6, 1794 in Wythe Co. Virginia. Possible siblings and father of Jacob are
listed in the Wythe Co., VA Order Book 3, page 145. --March 23, 1837
Siblings: John Wells, Bonham Wells, Amoni Wells, (the remaining siblings are listed as not inhabitants of this Commonwealth) Jacob Wells,
Rosegill Wells, Sarah Wells, Hannah Wells, Mary Wells, Margaret Wells & Nancy Wells.
Father: Moses Wells

Is anyone familiar or related to this group?

Although I do not recognize this particular family, there is a possibility that he is a descendant of Jacob Wells of Pennsylvania and Loudoun Co VA. Jacob (son of Joseph Wells and Ann Pugh) has been traced to Loudoun Co VA, where he died in 1780. He was known to have had sons Moses, Zachariah, David, and Jesse. Zachariah, who handled his father's estate, is believed to be the man of that name who migrated to Whitley Co KY. Moses cannot be definitively traced later in Loudoun Co. David died in 1800 (widow Rachel) and probably had children, as a cradle and extra bedstead were among his possessions. Nothing is known of what happened to Jesse Wells. Any one of these men could have had a son Moses, born in about the right time frame.

It is also believed that Samuel Wells of Loudoun Co with sons Abraham and Daniel were of the Pennsylvania family. This grouping appeared on only one tax list at Cameron Parish of Loudoun Co and then disappeared. Again, either one of these men could have had a son Moses.

Richard Wells, descendant of Peter Wells and Susannah Brock also lived in Virginia, but he had no children of his own. At least two of the sons of Christopher Wells settled in what is now Ritchie Co WV. I do not know if either had a son Moses.
