Looking for the following family/ancestry: JOHN NEWTON WELSH was born
September 24, 1826 in Northfield, Wayne, MI, and died November 10, 1902 in
Summerfield, Marshall, KS. He married (1) MATILDA WILLIAMS. He married (2)
MARY JANE LOUNT January 12, 1866 in Novi, Wayne, MI.

Lived in Iowa, Wymore, Neb., and Marshall Co., KS. in 1890 when they assumed
charge of the hotel in Summerfield. Mr. Welsh was married twice and to his
first wife were born four children, one living, John Calvin Welsh, born 1846
Saginaw, Saginaw, Michigan,and Louisa, born about 1854. Mr. Welsh was a
soldier of the civil war and saw service in the 12th Michigan volunteer
infantry. He enlisted soon after the beginning of the war, and served a term
of three years. He enlisted at Williamston, Michigan on 21 Jan 1862 for 3
years service. He was mustered in on 21 Feb 1862 and discharged at DeVall's
Bluff on 28 Jan 1865. Burial: November 12, 1902, Summerfield, Marshall, KS
