My uncle said we came from Bristle, ( probably Bristol ). I found one
in Somerset, Stockland, Bristol. The other is more obvious being
Bristol, the major city. Can anybody tell me if Dicks' lived in
Stockland, Bristol and/or Bristol City? Was there possibly a place
called Bristle? He said we came from Bristle on Bristol Bay. Are there
any other two name places, like Stockland, Bristol on Bristol Bay? The
family would have come out to Newfoundland prior to 1800.
