Both the Berkshire FHS and Oxfordshire FHS will be buying these vouchers,
and re-selling them to researchers. Prospective purchasers should note that
family history societies can buy these vouchers at a small discount. So if
you buy from your local or favourite family history society, that society
will be making a small surplus on the transaction. And as this surplus can
then be used to finance society activities, it will help to keep
subscriptions down. So there are positive advantages in paying by voucher
bought from a family history society.

explains the position in more detail.
Incidentally, the lowest denomination voucher is just £5. Of course, you
will find that £5 won't go very far .....
