It does appear that the problem with finding individuals, whom a person
knows were in that area in 1920, does lie with the transcription by the
person who did the "Hands-on" search of the census. It would be nice if
there were proof-readers at every step in the transcribing.

I have been working for months attempting to discover what an old
document says about a "search family". The microfilm was so faded that
the xerox copy is almost illegible. I have (I think) discovered one
name..if that is true, I am very close to a huge break-through. It would
have been nice if those working at the courthouse in 1837 would have had
the foresight to provide me with a better copy!

I did not find some members of one of my search families from the
Ancestry site even though I feel fairly certain they were in Daviess
County in 1920 ; however, I was delighted to find a name of a person
whom I did not realize was in the area in 1920. Now, I will need to
take the "nugget" provided from that site, head out to a library and
look for all the information on the microfilm. I do have a start by
knowing some of the information beforehand which is helpful.

I am more and more pleased all the time with the information provided
for us without monetary cost by various sources. This is such an
exciting time to be involved with the delightful hobby..or "obsession!"
