Folks, as a suggestion...

Whenever possible, please don't just list surnames. Try be a little more
verbose. Give us some details that might be interesting, if at all possible.
Perhaps focus on one family instead of just listing surnames. I know many
researchers who do not respond to lists of surnames. IMHO, people who
volunteer family information are more likely to get it in return. Tis the
season for giving, after all.

If you are new to family history, this is even more important. A list of
surnames doesn't say how much help or guidance that you might need. We were
all novice researchers at some point. We are all family members of the same
list and are here to help one another.

Lastly, put a good descriptive title in the subject line (not "My Surnames"
for example) and subscribers to the list can delete a message if they don't
want to read it.

All these things can pay off later as well when those who follow us search
the WCKY archives. (http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl)
