Does anyone have any information about my great grandfather, Henry P. Milam?
He was born in Indiana (probably Sullivan Co.) in 1826. He married Margaret
Basham from Hardinsburg, KY and they lived in Breckinridge Co., KY much of the
time. I do not know where Henry P. or Margaret died or where they are
buried.

Henry P. Milam and Margaret Basham had the following children:

William Allen Milam, my grandfather, born in 1845; married Catherine Roberts
and Emma Lena Durbin, my grandmother.
James Milam, born about 1848;
Francis M. Milam, born about 1850, apparently died before 1860 census;
Mary Milam, born about 1853;
Robert Barkstall Milam, born about 1854;
Henry L. Milam, born about 1858;
A. Georgia Milam, born about 1863;
Silvester Milam, born about 1866;
Miranda Jane Milam, born ???, married James Thomas Courtney, 8-14-1879.

Henry P. Milam and William Allen Milam were both in the 27th Kentucky
Regiment, Company B (Union) in the Civil War.

I believe Henry P.'s parents were William Milam and Sarah South but I have no
real proof, other than the fact that they had a son Henry who was born in
Indiana in 1826.
