Dear Chris,
Many thanks for your help. I have taken your advice and sent for the MI's
of Sowerby Green Old Chapel and also asked John Sutcliffe to tell me how I
can join Calderdale FHS.
I'm afraid I don't have much information on the Lumb line. All I can tell
you is that my g.g.g'mother, Sarah(Sally) Lumb was born in Sowerby Bridge
on 13 April 1810 and married Ciphas Hanson on 5 November 1828. There is a
small village(?) called Lumb about 2 miles SW of Sowerby Bridge, which
would indicate the family has been in this area for a long time.
