First census with any detail 1841. Previous to that, starting 1801, they
were merely headcounts. For a few places the enumerators books exist and
show some detail, usually name of head of household and numbers of
others. Can't tell you if Clitheroe has any such info. However they
should be in the 1841C which unfortunately, even if you find them, won't
tell you much - there is much better detail in the 1851C.
The census info will not, in any event, help you with the maiden name of
the wife. It's not a feature of any of the censuses so far released.
Anyway this is a Yorkshire list so is not the best place to search for
Lancashire ancestors!
