I am Eddie Twigg of Dawlish,and I am researching the following S.Yorks.
families:-
BRAILSFORD -pre 1865,Sheffield,N.Notts.and N.Derbys.,where they originated.
RYLEY -pre 1865,Rotherham.?where they came from.
NORTON - pre 1865,Sheffield,Ecclesfield.? where they came from.
LONSDALE - pre 1800,Sheffield, ?came from Lancs.,?originated in Cumberland.
HILTON - pre 1820,Sheffield,came from Grtr.Manchester area.
It seems that all my ancestors moved into Sheffield to find work.I have
some I.G.I.,Census
and Parish Records data for these families as they lived in Sheffield,but am
struggling to find where they came from.I don't know whether I have done
right in subscribing to 'West-Riding---',or whether I should have tried
'YorksGen'.I hope that someone can help/I can help someone else.
