Subject: [WRY] Ignorant of Digest subscription
Date: Thu, 02 Mar 2000 11:34:20 -0500
Hi to Roy, Andrew, Jude, et al,
Duh, pardon my ignorance, but...
I was only told how to "subscribe". I did not know at the time (last
August) that there was more than one way to subscribe, nor how to do it
differently. I have since found at least two Rootsweb lists in the USA that
had a "Digest" mode. But they never explained what it was (they erroneously
assumed that everybody knew); I assumed it was like a summary or "abstract"
so I stayed away.
One of the listers, and I think it was John Farnhill, recently described
what you get when you subscribe in Digest mode, and it did sound very
reasonable. Thank you for that helpful contribution. (Funny, helpfulness
seems to run like genetics in the WEST-RIDING-L. Or is that the Yorkshire
heritage?)
Can you only subscribe in Digest mode over the WWW? I did not subscribe to
WRY-L in that manner.
Thank you kindly...
