Subject: [WRY] Debate over - the heading stays
Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 18:29:51 +0000

After a lively debate, the ayes have it by a large majority.
The [WRY] header stays. The square brackets will also stay because they
are added by Rootsweb's software and there is no way to remove them.

For the large number who have emailed me to ask what a Scarborough
Warning is - it is no warning at all. It may relate to the capture of
Scarborough in 1557 by Thomas Stafford, in the reign of Queen Mary the
first. Needless to say, he did not give any warning.

Sorry to disappoint all those hoping for fish and chips or ice cream.

One person wanted to know why I was discussing Scarborough on the West
Riding list. Nice one! At least now we can prove that someone out there
has a map and knows how to use it. ;-)
