Hi - I too am researching DAWSON's...
> Lukes parents were JOHN or JOHNATHAN DAWSON/SARAH.
I have a John Dawson and Sarah Lawson who married Oct 11, 1802 in Campsall.
Is this a possibility?

Funny you should mention JUBB! I have John JUBB who married November 27,
1775 to Susannah DAWSON.
Susannah was born in Kirk Smeaton.
For the record, I descend from Henry DAWSON who married Ann LAMB who married
in Kirk Smeaton on February 10, 1744/45. (Susannah above was one of their
daugthers) but it gets complicated!! :-)
they 8 children that I know of. Ann was first married to George Elliott in
1732 but he died 1744. She remarried to Henry within a year.
My 4x great grandparents are John Elliott (g-grandson of Ann/George) and
Susannah Dawson (granddaughter of Ann/Henry)
so I descend from Ann twice.
I missed the first message about these DAWSONs would I would love to know if
there is a connection, esp since i'm going to Kirk Smeaton in two weeks time
:-)
Surnames I'm researching in Campsall / Kirk Smeaton and surrounding areas
are HAZARD, BECKIT, LAMB, ELLIOT, ELLIOTT, DAWSON, FIRTH, HIRST, CHAMPNEY,
RHODES, SELLERS, and BIRKS.
Would like to hear from anyone researching these names in this area.
Thanks
