Hello Euan,

Thank you for clarifying the circumstances surrounding Martha Pearson.

By now you would have read my reply to Arthur attempting with the limited knowledge I have to make some logical explanation of the events that occurred 170 years ago. It is often hard enough to make sense out of current events, let alone those that are so far in the past.

As regards to relationships of cousins, I rely on the Kinship report facility of my Family Tree Maker software. I also have difficult in explaining which way generations are "removed" with the graphics of a "tree" As you will see from my email to Arthur, my connection to the Pearson line is through the Bateman line then the Hanson, Tordoff and finally my grandfather William Reynolds.
