Hi,

I am researching the Brayshaw (Brashaw) family of Harewood and am
particularly interested in Alban Brayshaw who was born there in 1830 as he
is in the direct line that I am tracing.

I have the Yorkshire 1851 Census on CD ROM but have been unable to find him
in Harewood which is where I would have expected him to be as that is where
his first child was born in 1861. Does SKS have access to a surname index
for the area for 1851 ? I have been unable to trace him on the 1881 Census
either in Yorkshire or elsewhere. He may have been dead by then of course. I
have just seen from Yorkshire BMD that there was an Alban Brayshaw who died
in 1875 in the Boston Spa Registration District which may be him.

As I am particularly interested in finding out his occupation there may also
be a reference in a trade directory that would help. If anyone has access to
a trade directory for the area between 1850 and 1875 and would be prepared
to look him up that would be much appreciated.

Brian
