Hello,
I'm Sheila Martin.Returning after a brief sojourn last year. My main research is in Cornwall, west Scotland and Cumberland. I discovered that one of my Cumbrian ancestors had married in the Halifax area. I now have a little more information, but don't know where to go from here.
Elizabeth SIMPSON born Barkisland 1821/2,
married to Thomas JOHNSTONE, at Ebenezer Chapel, Halifax, (Primitive Methodist) on September 2nd 1845.
Her father was Joseph SIMPSON, Stone Mason.
Where might any church record of her family be? It seems as though they may have been non conformists, as her husband's family, and their children, born in Cumberland were christened in the local church.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks,
Sheila
