Terry,
Catherine IS listed on the SSDI. I did not use the Ancestry.com
database, but I would have thought the SSDI is the same no matter where
you access it. I had trouble at first because of the spelling
(Worchester) you gave. Do you know about the "wild card" searches?
That is how I finally found Catherine. Example:
If you are in doubt about the spelling of a name, use the first three
letters of the name followed by an asterisk. In this case, I used
<Wor*>, (without the brackets). It will give more possibilities to
choose from, but in this situation, it proved very helpful. This wild
card search using: wor*, catherine, died tx, gave me Catherine
Wortham, Catherine Worrell, Catherine Worrall, and Catherine Worcester.
Bingo!

Also, the Texas Death Records do not give as much information as the
SSDI (date of birth, or soc. sec. no), but the place of death here is
actually the "place of death", and not just "last residence", as the
SSDI lists. And no, these aren't always the same. A person's "last
residence" on the SSDI may accurately be Anson, Jones Co, TX; but they
may have actually died in Abilene, Taylor Co, TX.
Another thing the TX Death Records will list (at least many times) is
the middle name or initial, whereas the SSDI is first name only.

If I have typed these URL's correctly, they should be highlighted and
you can click on them from this e-mail. Should you already be aware of
my explanations, there may be some on this list who are not.
