I have tons of new information to add to my last posting. I got lucky and a
distant cousin saw a posting on a message board and sent me all of the info
she has gathered in her research. Sorry this is a little long, I've tried to
make it as clear as possible.


JAMES FURLONG b. between 1785 - 1813 in Ireland. He married ALICE FOWLER b.
in County Wexford, Ireland.

Their son:

STEPHEN FURLONG b. about 1830 in County Wexford. He married ALLIS in County
Wexford about 1855.
Stephen and Allis had about 11 children in all. The ones that are not listed
are believed to have stayed in Ireland. The 4 boys listed emigrated 1879 or
80 to Boston then settled in Jersey City, New Jersey.

2. PATRICK FURLONG b. September 1856 in County Wexford, Ire. He married
BRIDGET b. February 1868.

3. ALICE FURLONG b. March 1860 in Ireland. She married THOMAS O'NEIL in
1885. He was born March 1862 in Ireland.
Emigrated 1885.

WILLIAM O'NEIL b. March 1891

4. WILLIAM FURLONG b. March 1865 in County Wexford, Ireland. He married
MARIE abt. 1894. She was born July 1865 in New Jersey.

Their children:
MARY A FURLONG, b. April 1895.
MARGARET FURLONG, b. April 1896.
WILLIAM FURLONG, b. 30 July 1897; d. May 1969
STEPHEN FURLONG, b. August 1898

5. EDWARD WILLIAM FURLONG b. March 11, 1873 in County Wexford, Ireland; d.
September 23, 1953 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. He married
CATHERINE MCCARTHY June 14, 1895 in St. Paul's R.C. Church, Jersey City,
Hudson County, New Jersey, daughter of JAMES MCCARTHY and MARGARET GIBBONS.
She was born August 25, 1873 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, and
died November 29, 1955 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.

Their children:
MARGUERITE IRENE FURLONG, b. April 26, 1896, Jersey City, Hudson County,
New Jersey; d. August 31, 1980, Jersey City, Hudson County, New
Jersey.
EDWARD J. FURLONG, b. November 28, 1898, Jersey City, Hudson County, New
Jersey; d. March 16, 1956, Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.
HELEN FURLONG, b. July 1900.
FRANCIS FURLONG, b. Abt. 1903.
ALICE FURLONG, b. Abt. 1905.
JAMES FURLONG, b. Abt. 1905.
GERTRUDE M. FURLONG, b. 01 July 1907, Jersey City, Hudson County, New
Jersey.
*** CELESTINE CATHERINE FURLONG, b. January 02, 1919, Jersey City, Hudson
County, New Jersey. She married JOHN GEOFFREY EMERSON 1939 in St.
Patrick's Church, Jersey City, New Jersey, son of RAYMOND
EMERSON and ADELAIDE DONLAN. He was born October 19, 1917 in New York City,
and died November 17, 1981 in New York State.



*** Celestine is my grandmother. I have more information on some of her
siblings if anyone is interested.

I am especially interested in finding out what town in Wexford this
particular line is from and I would like to find out more about the siblings
of my great grandfather, Edward William, including the ones that stayed
behind. My father once mentioned that we had some distant relatives in
Australia. I am wondering if some of the other siblings emigrated there.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who might have more information.
