Back in the 1730s, one of my wife's ancestors was widowed. She was
Charity Colquhoun, who was married to Adam Lynn, who was murdered on his
property in Portraine. She had five children, and married a man named
Brown, who moved the family to Fethard because of his appointment as
"Commander of the King's Barge."

Is there any record of Captain Brown, such as his full name, his dates,
etc.? The title of his position is enough to get my curiosity going.
Surely, out of the Wexford rootsweb, you can cure a little of my
ignorance.
